What are the components of ph meter digital
The ph meter digital is composed of three parts, simply speaking, it is composed of electrodes and galvanometers.
(1) Reference electrode
Reference electrode: An electrode that does not respond to the activity of hydrogen ions in solution and has a known and constant electrode potential. There are several reference electrodes such as mercurous sulfate electrode, calomel electrode and silver/silver chloride electrode. The most commonly used are calomel electrodes and silver/silver chloride electrodes.
The basic function of the reference electrode is to maintain a constant potential as a control for measuring various offset potentials.
(2) Glass electrode
Glass electrode: It is composed of glass rod, glass membrane, internal reference solution, internal reference electrode, electrode cap, wire and so on. The most commonly used indicating electrode on the market is the 231 glass pH electrode. The function of the glass electrode is to establish a potential difference that responds to changes in the hydrogen ion activity of the solution being measured.
(3) Ammeter
The function of the ammeter: amplify the potential of the primary battery several times, and the amplified signal is displayed through the ammeter. The degree of deflection of the pointer of the ammeter indicates the strength of the signal it promotes. For the needs of use, the dial of the pH ammeter is engraved with the corresponding pH value; while the digital ph meter digital directly displays the pH value in numbers.
