Electrode cleaning

After the ph meter digital electrode is used for a long time, the response may become slow or noisy. After cleaning and other related treatments, its measurement performance can be improved.

Treatment of electrode aging

The aging of the ph meter digital glass electrode is related to the gradual change of the glue layer structure. Older electrodes have sluggish response, high membrane resistance, and low slope. Etching off the outer adhesive layer with hydrofluoric acid often improves electrode performance.

Solution: Electrode Activation The aging electrode can be soaked in a mixed solution of 1M acetic acid and 1M potassium chloride (1:1), activated for 10 minutes, then taken out and cleaned. Electrodes that are not seriously aged can be activated by soaking in distilled water or 0.1N dilute hydrochloric acid solution for 24 hours.
